Hacking
My friend Jon is on a train, on wifi, so we have to do some science! I’m going to send him this post, and have it password protected!
Let’s see if he is totally cyber hacked!
Totally hacked… or is he?

So, obviously if we had a zero day for the device he is on (which I didn’t know, but now do!) it’s possible that we could get him to visit a site and comprise him. More likely is that we would try and phish him or get him to download and execute malware (a dodgy mobile app etc.)
But I didn’t do all that, so all I get was this;

I got some other data like his user agent. But basically all I know is that Jon is a good sport and that he’s someone in the world (or is he in space???!!!!) and that he’s on a VPN! his logs were among 13 ip addresses, so he was 1, I was 1 and there were 11 other connections!
So there we go! some fun for Jon, taking big risks on wifi and visiting dodgy sites 😉 (this is very sarcastic for people that don’t know!)
Thanks for playing Jon! Hope the train ride goes well! and hopefully this gets some laughs and helps people understand that the more you tweet, has northing to do with collecting the connections IPs!
but now I know what phone he has! so next time…. I’ll be waiting, so join us brother! 😉 /s
